W. SHANSHAN 珊然軒

Born and raised up in the heart of the cultured Beijing, Dr Shanshan Wang has spent the last decade and a half studying and working in France, Germany and the UK. With a Ph.D in Chemistry, Shanshan continues to explore the common feature between science and art – creativity. Shanshan has had a life-long passion for art, particularly Chinese antiques. She herself is an artist, having many years’ experience in both traditional Chinese paintings and Western art forms. Multilingual and with a scientific and artistic mind, profound cultural understanding and a deep knowledge of history, Shanshan is a true polymath.

Dr Wang's special love for antiques began when she acquired her first Yangshao pottery piece many years ago in Beijing. Her parents, who are also passionate antique collectors, encouraged her to deepen her knowledge across different disciplines. Shanshan has been building up her connoisseurship in multiple areas. Her major expertise is in the fields of Chinese antiques, luxuries collections and European country houses. Through her online educational programmes - Dr Shany's Talk, she sheds new light on the mysteries of European culture and art for a broad Chinese audience.
