Meissen porcelain group of dogs, c.1860.
Fine and large Meissen porcelain group of dogs, c. 1860, after a model by Johann Joachim Kaendler. Finely modelled as two seated spaniels, and a standing pug dog, set upon a mound base, edged with moulded and gilded rococo scroll. The dogs naturistically painted, and having expressive looks on their faces.
Traces of blue crossed swords mark to the unglazed base, and incised model number ‘2104’.
Height - 14.2 cm, 5 5/8”.
Length - 20 cm, 7 7/8”.
Depth - 14.2 cm, 5 5/8”.
Condition - Excellent.
