This is a superb quality malachite mounted oval ormolu casket,  Circa 1870 in date.

The hinged cover features a large oval inset malachite panel with six smaller ones around the sides. The beautifully engraved body in the Palais Royale manner and riased on leafy scroll feet.

The lid opens to reveal the original silk  interior.
